N2 - The continuous pollution has generated the search for renewable energies, taking biofuels as answers, especially biodiesel from residual oil, which uses a waste that does not compete with the food sector. The objective of the research was to analyze the index of residual cooking oils for the production of biodiesel in the provinces of Lima and Trujillo. Collecting information from research works, obtaining parameters such as density, viscosity and acid number, comparing the dispersion of residual oil and biodiesel through box diagrams. Similarly, the catalysts and alcohols used were contrasted with the parameters, adding the yield. In addition, a comparison was made of the Peruvian vegetable oil regulations at an international level, as well as the research methodologies. Finally, the design of a biodiesel production plant from recycled vegetable oil in the San Isidro urbanization is proposed. Concluding that the recommended alcohol is methanol and the catalyst is sodium hydroxide, being used in the proposed plant. Likewise, there are no standards for residual cooking oil, only oils, that do not contemplate parameters from other countries.
