N2 - The main objective of this study was to analyze the elements of audiovisual narrative in Bong Joon-ho’s film Memories of Murder. Likewise, the research was carried out under a qualitative phenomenological approach, using content analysis as a method and observation as a technique. As for the sound, the results show the predominance of dialogues; at the same time, two types of atmospheres were identified, of which the atmosphere of continuity had a greater presence; Likewise, the feature film has a tendency toward natural sound effects; in the case of music, it is mostly presented in an extradiegetic way; finally, silence is used to a lesser extent to generate suspense in certain scenes. In relation to the image, the results show the long general shot and the horizontal angle as the most used in the film; in the same way, traveling is the most recurrent camera movement, which brings dynamism and fluidity to each scene; in the case of lighting, it is analyzed in terms of the quality of the light, with hard light being the most prevalent. It was concluded that the audiovisual narrative is made up of the union of the elements at the level of image and sound, which have been used for years and that have been perfected due to the need to tell stories. In addition, the application of these remedies is defined by the established rules and by the director’s discretion in relation to what he intends to convey to the audience.
