N2 - The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of the proposed quality management improvement on reducing costs in the production process of a charcoal agroindustry in Trujillo, Peru. A preliminary diagnosis of the company's production process using an Ishikawa diagram revealed four root causes of high production costs: lack of production line supervision, lack of employee training, lack of machinery maintenance, and lack of raw material supply management. To address these issues, tools such as Quality Function Deployment (QFD), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and DMAIC Six Sigma were used. The improvement proposal had a significant impact, increasing the company's profitability, reducing production costs, improving operator training, preventing production stoppages, and enhancing the quality of the charcoal production and distribution process. The viability of the improvement proposal was supported by an economic evaluation, resulting in a Net Present Value (NPV) of S/ 74,861.86, an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 38%, and a Payback Period of 2.7 years, equivalent to 3 years. We conclude that implementing this production process improvement proposal will bring great benefits to the company, increasing efficiency, quality, and profits.
