Bisfenol A, Efectos en la Salud en Mujeres Embarazadas y Niños en la Primera Infancia: Recomendaciones para su Regulación en Perú

The study explores health risks associated with bisphenol A (BPA): a widely used endocrine disruptor in plastics, particularly in pregnant women and children up to six years of age. The general objective is to highlight the presence of bisphenol A in the body of people from vulnerable populations and reflect on the regulations of other countries so that they can be applied in Peru. Databases recognized as ScienceDirect, Web of Science and the journal Nature were consulted, and information from legislative documents on GAP was sought. The PRISMA method was used, using keywords such as "BPA", "pregnant woman", "health ", "children" and " "regulation". The results indicate that exposure to BPA poses significant health risks, including neurological and metabolic disorders after urinalysis in pregnant women and children in early childhood. It is also observed that regulations in countries such as Canada, Brazil and Spain have effectively reduced exposure to BPA, especially in products like baby bottles. In addition, the resin code of plastics should be considered to identify which packaging is BPA-free. These results reveal the lack of knowledge in Peru on the subject due to the absence of national research demonstrating the damage it causes to vulnerable groups, therefore further research on BPA is recommended, to ensure that the laws in Peru can be properly applied.
