N2 - Small mining companies do not have the resources to carry out specialized studies such as petrographic and mineragraphic studies during the exploration and exploitation stage of a deposit, which conditions the planning and execution of the adequate metallurgical treatment. In the present investigation we have the objective of characterizing the mineralogy of the Milagros vein, and that this allows the planning of the metallurgical treatment of the mineral in the Granada prospect located in the district of Santiago de Chuco, province of Santiago de Chuco and department of La Freedom. Our field activities allowed the mapping of the lithology, the alterations and the taking of 21 samples. In the laboratory, the mineralogical analysis was carried out, being able to identify and characterize in detail the minerals that make up the Vein, a ZEISS Primotech brand petrographic microscope, polarization binocular and the Zeiss Mineralogic automated software were used, which allowed taking the photomicrographs of the samples used.. Due to the majority percentages of sulfides in the specimens, flotation tests were carried out to analyze the behavior of the minerals that carry economic elements and evaluate the percentage of recovery that they would present during the metallurgical treatment. It was confirmed that the main Ag ore is found mainly in silver sulfosalts such as Miargyrite (AgSbS2) and that the main Au ore would be pyrite (FeS2), in which it is postulated that gold is It is fo und structurally, because it was not seen under the optical microscope.
