N2 - The present work was developed with the purpose of solving the problems of a metal-mechanical company in the production and logistics areas. The first issue addressed was persistent disorder, while the second was labor incidents arising from unsafe practices by operators and lack of training. It is for this reason that there is a need to address these identified inconveniences. To achieve this, engineering tools such as Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke (5S) were employed for disorder, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) for labor incidents. Ultimately, an annual cost reduction of $2,177.86 and a 69% reduction in downtime due to disorder were achieved. Additionally, the impact of implementing these tools was evaluated, yielding an internal rate of return (IRR) of 13.72%, a net present value (NPV) of $636.73, and a benefit/cost ratio (B/C) of 1.49.
