Abstract

Water resources are affected by rainstorms, causing increases in flows and velocities, which in turn generate erosion and overflows in their causes. For the aforementioned reasons, it is urgent to design structures to reduce the velocities and dissipate the energy produced by the increase in flows, unfortunately the study of the kinematics of fluids is complex, since being able to study the behavior of these obeys the solution of very complex differential equations such as those of Navier-Stokes and Saint Venant. Currently, technological progress allows the partial resolution of the aforementioned equations, which prompted the realization of this research in which a model of two-dimensional barriers was designed using Autodesk Inventor software and simulated in Autodesk CFD, using water as a fluid, which was subjected to 5 different speeds and pressures in order to analyze whether or not the heatsink module created achieved the efficient dissipation of energy between its inlet and outlet sections, thus laying the groundwork for future research on sediment settling, hydraulic structures or scours.
