N2 - The use of natural materials in the construction industry aims to reduce pollution caused by this sector. This research investigates whether bamboo, as a natural material, can exhibit similar structural characteristics to traditional materials in concrete structures, focusing on flexural strength tests for beams. An analysis was conducted on the structural behavior of beams made of concrete, bamboo, and bamboo-reinforced concrete. The results show that plain concrete beams are stronger in terms of flexural strength than bamboo-reinforced concrete beams. However, bamboo-reinforced beams exhibited fewer cracks and did not fracture completely, unlike the plain concrete beams. Additionally, a weight comparison between the three types of beams revealed that bamboo beams are lighter, followed by bamboo-reinforced concrete beams, which would result in reduced structural loads. Lastly, an economic comparison found that bamboo beams are more cost-effective than the other types.
