Abstract

This research was developed based on the problems of neglected ecotourism in cities with a high influx of visitors, difficulties that affect tourism, nature itself, and the integral development of cities. Taking into account the aforementioned, this research will focus on leveraging ecotourism activities through the use of infrastructure designed with bamboo, a sustainable material whose typology is being developed through ecoarchitecture or ecological architecture. This will address the objective of determining the sustainable properties of bamboo in architecture for a bamboo ecotourism center. The methodology used is non-experimental, using a documentary review; from this, an architectural study can be conducted in the selected environment. At the conclusion of the research, various theoretical and technical guidelines were obtained, applicable to different scales, varied architectural forms, flexible functional spaces with virtual and mobile walls, strategies to take advantage of the natural geometry of bamboo, the use of terraces, open areas, and techniques for proper placement and implementation, integrating the architecture and creating a connection with the environment.
