Abstract
This proposal was conducted to describe the characteristics of the user experience of visitors in the tourist centres of Trujillo and the aspects that should be considered in gamification techniques to propose the design of a mobile application. Data was collected using the Museum Experience Scale (MES) applied to a group of 384 participants. The results highlight deficiencies in the indicators of engagement, knowledge/learning, meaningful experience, and emotional connection. The outcome of this study is the design of a mobile application considering the thematic aspects of gamification techniques such as game mechanics and game dynamics to enhance the indicators identified in the previous analysis.
