Abstract

Given the recurrent floods in many areas of the Casma River Basin and the lack of records in its hydrometeorological stations, in the present investigation a study has been carried out for the generation of monthly flows in the Tutuma hydrometric station for the last 34 years between the years 1981 and 2015, using the French GR2M precipitation runoff model. For this, the average precipitation values of the climatic gridded products of RAIN4pe precipitation and ERA5 land temperatures have been used. These climate products have been obtained by creating a source code in JavaScript to be used on the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform. Good calibrations have been obtained between the measured and generated monthly flows for the period between 1982 and 1984. This demonstrates a reliable simulation of the behavior of the generated flows, which will be fundamental later for future hydro energy projects, storage and control of avenues, etc.
