N2 - Although the study habits and academic performance variables are widely recurrent in face-to-face research at the university level, the same cannot be said of the virtual modality, since there is little research in this area. Therefore, it was proposed to determine the relationship between study habits and academic performance of students in the Communication 1 course, belonging to the virtual campus of a Peruvian university. The research is characterized by its quantitative approach of causal correlational design. The participants were 289 students, to whom a 38-item questionnaire was applied, validated by expert judgment, with a Cronbach's Alpha reliability of 0.971. Kendall's Tau-b test was used to test hypotheses between variables. After processing and interpreting the statistical data, the causal relationship between study habits and students' academic performance was tested with a sig. 0.001 and Nagelkerke's R-squared obtained from the Intro method of binary logistic regression by which a p-value of 0.001 lower than 0.05 (0.001 < 0.05) was obtained. It was concluded that study habits have a significant influence on the academic performance of students in the virtual campus.
