Abstract
This study focuses on reducing operating costs in a telecommunications company dedicated to the installation of high-speed internet through fiber optics in the city of Trujillo. Faced with rapid growth and its associated challenges, key issues were diagnosed using industrial engineering tools such as the Ishikawa diagram, Pareto analysis, and indicator matrices. The main problems identified included lack of training in new equipment, inefficient warehouse layout, absence of a maintenance plan, and lack of order and cleanliness, resulting in monthly losses totaling S/. 6,235. Simulations were conducted to compare operating costs before and after the application of these tools, along with a detailed economic analysis to ensure the feasibility of the proposed solutions. The results show a significant reduction in operating costs, with a 56.78% decrease. This improvement directly contributes to enhancing the company's competitiveness. Furthermore, this study proposes a replicable model for other organizations in the technology sector facing similar operational challenges.
