N2 - The violence that has been built around gender affects social dynamics and ways of understanding the world. Although it is true that the role of women in the construction of culture is vital, relations with the other, with the male sex, have been based on asymmetries, objectification and implementation of dominant patriarchal logics. For this reason, this paper analyzes the categories of gender, equity, multiculturalism and interculturality, pointing out the necessary transcendence of multicultural approaches, which hide hegemonic discriminatory patterns towards women and culture, since recognition or tolerance towards women is not enough. The other requires the establishment of symmetrical, equitable dialogues that tend towards social justice. The work was developed following the guidelines of the hermeneutic-documentary methodology. It concludes in the recognition of the heterogeneity of genders, cultures and knowledge, to denounce discriminatory patterns in multicultural approaches, which encourage mistreatment towards divergent identity, tending towards the consolidation of an ethical-normative system based on a genuine intercultural dialogue.
