N2 - The main objective of this study is to determine the impact of innovation on the commercial development of an SME in the city of Trujillo - Peru. In addition, it will test the type of innovation by object - business or commercial process innovations. Being, the methodology of applied purpose, non-experimental design, quantitative approach, causal correlational scope and according to its data source, field research. The results show that the impact of innovation on business development is positive; in addition, the coefficient of determination R-squared is 0.357, which means that by investing in innovation the company can improve its competitiveness and diversify its business opportunities. It is concluded that the impact of innovation on business development depends a lot on external factors, as well as some dimensions that have relevance to give a greater added value and give a boost to growth.
