N2 - The purpose of this study is to analyze the impact of Quality Management tools in increasing production efficiency and reducing additional costs in a company specialized in the manufacture of backpacks in Trujillo, Peru. The research begins with the identification of key areas using tools such as Statistical Quality Control and the evaluation of economic losses. The final phase of the study involves the implementation of improvement proposals supported by Quality Management tools, effectively addressing the identified problem areas. It starts by identifying the productive areas of the company using Statistical Quality Control tools and loss costing. The root causes identified include lack of personnel training, lack of organization in planning, lack of machinery maintenance and lack of judgment in the use of raw materials. After quantifying these root causes, the initial loss is S/. 100,331.00 soles. However, by implementing improvements derived from tools such as the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) together with the quality house, the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA), and the DMAIC Six Sigma Methodology (Six Sigma), the loss due to cost overruns is reduced to S/ 98,170.00 soles, thus showing that the strategic application of Quality Management tools resulted in a net benefit of S/ 2,161.00 soles for the backpack manufacturing company.
