N2 - A research work was carried out with the purpose of analyzing the application of engineering tools to increase productivity in the production area in a manufacturing company in Peru. The Ishikawa diagram and Pareto diagram were used; and then apply engineering tools, such as Preventive Maintenance, Poka Yoke, Guerchet Method, Method Study and Internal Plant Training. An annual economic loss of S/ 313,037.14 was determined, generated by 5 root causes: lack of a maintenance plan, inefficient processes, inefficient plant distribution, deficient process in the dust chamber and lack of training. After implementing the improvements, accepted values were obtained, an annual benefit of S/ 134,274.98, with a NPV of S/ 94,644.78, an IRR of 33% and B/C of 4,7. Therefore, it was determined that the application of engineering tools does increase productivity in the area of productivity in a food industry company.
