N2 - The study addresses the implementation of a Business Intelligence System for a company in the electricity sector in Peru. The need arises due to the dispersion and lack of dynamic information formats, making it difficult for free users, who are large consumers of the electricity sector, to make informed decisions. The objective is to design and develop a Business Intelligence System to improve decision making in the management of free users in a company of the electric sector. The research is quantitative, using a preexperimental cross-sectional design. Observation sheets were used to collect data, analyzed before and after the implementation of the Business Intelligence system. The sample includes 14 workers, using a non-probabilistic convenience sampling. The development methodology is Raplh Kimball. The result obtained after the implementation of Business Intelligence was the increase of the percentage of reliability in the data for decision making by 96%, the time of elaboration of reports was reduced by 15%, the percentage of variety of reports was increased by 87% and finally after the implementation of Business Intelligence the percentage of efficiency in the generation of reports was significantly improved by 83%. These results are consistent with previous studies that highlight the effectiveness of Business Intelligence in improving the operability and competitiveness of organizations in various business contexts.
