N2 - Big data is a massive dataset, through which statistics, behavioral studies and trends are generated. In the journalistic field, it has been fundamental for the automation of texts, creation of new computer content and new technological tools. In order to document the available material on big data in the field of journalism, a systematic literature review was conducted in the Scopus database. We applied filters to narrow down the findings. From a preliminary result of 47 publications, 11 were chosen that met the purposes of the research. It is specified that most of the selected texts use qualitative methodology to document the experiences of using big data and artificial intelligence. According to the studies analyzed, it was found that artificial intelligence (AI) and the application of big data in journalism enable the creation of content, the implementation of platforms and fact-checking. It is concluded that big data and AI are increasingly used in journalistic work, so it is important to use them with a critical and ethical approach.
