Abstract
The study deals with the optimization of the production of silver and gold jewelry of an MYPE through the application of linear programming. The main objective is to improve production efficiency, minimize operating costs and optimize inventory management. From the data collected in the company, a linear programming model was formulated that considers constraints such as availability of raw materials, production capacity and market demand. The model was implemented in the LINGO computer program, which allowed evaluating the optimal solutions and performing sensitivity analysis. The results indicate that the Jewelry Store should focus on the production of rings, chains and pendants in 925 silver, bracelets in 950 silver and earrings in a combination of 950 silver and 18 karat gold, achieving a significant reduction in production costs. The sensitivity analysis confirms the robustness of the model to variations in costs and resource availability.
