N2 - This research was carried out with the need to know the application of the algorithms Tabú and Colonia de Hormigas from a theoretical point of view of urban transport, in order to identify the most efficient algorithm to be able to optimize urban transport in the city of Lima and also know the benefits implied by its implementation. In this review, various fields of genetic algorithms were analyzed in which they are applied, such as collective public transport, distribution routes, last-mile logistics distribution, traffic flows, traffic congestion, computing, neural networks, electrical energy distribution, etc. An analysis of the applications and possible solutions that generate algorithms was carried out in the face of the urban transport deficit. The sources of information that were considered were Alicia, Redalyc and Dialnet. Performing a review of the literature on the genetic algorithms Tabú and Colonia de Hormigas, managing to find 28 articles in Spanish from the last 5 years. And specifying that appropriate algorithm to apply is the Taboo.
