Proposal of a mobile application using the Mobile-D methodology to support the type 2 diabetes control process in a hospital in Trujillo

Abstract

The present research study was applied with the objective of proposing an application in the control of type 2 diabetes in a hospital in the city of Trujillo in the year 2021. The type of descriptive-propositive study was used and the questionnaire was used as a data collection instrument. For the factual variable Type 2 diabetes control, the Physical Activity and Diet Care dimensions were taken. For the propositional variable Mobile Application, the propositional aspects Reliability and Maintainability were taken and for the thematic variable Mobile-D Methodology the thematic aspects Phases and Elements were taken. The results obtained showed that there were deficiencies in the control of type 2 diabetes on the part of the patients since they dedicated little time to physical activity per week and their consumption of carbohydrates and fats was high. With all the aforementioned, it is concluded that the mobile application proposed in this research has functionalities that will help patients to correct the deficiencies found in the way they control their disease.
