Abstract

This research work applied preventive maintenance using the tools of Predictive Maintenance and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) in the Metal Mecanica Empromec company. Through the pre-experimental design, data collection techniques and instruments were used in the analysis of information from the company's production and maintenance processes, to evaluate the corresponding areas, determine the problems that directly affect productivity and identify the tools to use. The Mean Time between Failures was found, taking the real-time work data and the number of breakdowns, finding a value of 42 hours for the universal milling machine and 65.5 hours for the revolver lathe; Average Time between Repairs, considering the downtime due to failure and the number of breakdowns, the value of 6 hours was found for the universal milling machine and 4.2 hours for the revolver lathe. Regarding availability, 91% was determined for the universal milling machine and 95% for the revolver lathe. Also, preventive maintenance was applied to reduce and/or disappear these problems; For this reason, Total Productive Maintenance was executed, showing an increase in productivity; as well as an increase in Total Team Effectiveness to 10%.
