Propuesta de implementación de un sistema de gestión de calidad para mejorar los procesos, en una empresa metalmecánica

The research aimed to determine the influence of quality management on process improvement at a metalworking company. The current state of the production area was diagnosed, and four different causes of economic losses were identified: a deficient maintenance plan, a lack of proper raw material procurement, a lack of control over structural finishing, and inadequate operator training. The improvement proposal incorporated methodologies and tools such as Quality Assurance (QFD), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and DMAIC Six Sigma process improvement, which facilitate the control and optimization of processes used in product development and manufacturing. These tools employ matrices that systematically organize the company's knowledge of customer demands and the distinctive attributes of each product. Operating costs were reduced from S/ 16,930.00 to only S/ 5,006.67, indicating that processes were improved and, consequently, losses were reduced. Likewise, an economic evaluation was carried out, obtaining a NPV of S/ 117,239.35, an IRR of 75.07% and a PRI of 2 years.
