N2 - The main objective of this report is to reduce the company's high operational costs by employing quality management tools. Initially, a diagnosis of the current situation of the company, specifically in the production area, was conducted because this is where the greatest losses occur. In addition to the aforementioned, the research report presents a proposal for improvement, as well as economic and financial evaluation. Within the company, problems contributing to increased operational costs are considered, such as lack of knowledge and commitment from employees, absence of measurement, lack of inspection, and inadequate planning in processes. The improvement proposal for the production area includes methodologies and tools from quality management (such as FMEA Matrix, DMAIC Six Sigma, 5S, and QFD) that enable the control of processes used to produce avocado seedlings. These methodologies and tools aim to ensure that the seedlings are produced uniformly, thus avoiding defects and associated costs. Finally, an economic evaluation of the project was conducted, determining that an investment of S/. 24,152.00 is needed to achieve an NPV of S/. 27,571.71, an IRR of 47.18%, a period of payback of 4.7 years, and a B/C ratio of 1.5.
