Abstract
The objective of the research is to calculate the compression strength of concrete f'c= 210 kg/cm2 by replacing the fine aggregate with steel slag in Cajamarca - Peru. This aims to compare the axial compression strength between concrete with steel slag versus conventional concrete. Additionally, the research approach is quantitative, as 48 concrete specimens were prepared, of which 36 specimens were used: 9 specimens with 10% steel slag, 9 with 15% steel slag, 9 with 20% steel slag, and 9 control specimens (without slag). These specimens were tested at 7, 14, and 28 days of curing, resulting in concrete with steel slag exceeding the f'c= 210 kg/cm2 strength of conventional concrete. At 10% steel slag, the concrete reaches a maximum strength of 222.36 kg/cm2 at 28 days, at 15% it reaches 238.00 kg/cm2, and at 20% it reaches 232.39 kg/cm2. Finally, it is concluded that replacing the fine aggregate with steel slag improves the compression strength of concrete, helping to reduce quarry exploitation and environmental pollution.
