Abstract

This research develops a systematic review in 6 phases: research problems, search sources, selection criteria, study selection, quality assessment, data extraction strategies and foundation synthesis. The trends of artificial intelligence in this field, the type of assistive devices used to apply AI, and the life environments of the visually impaired in which these technological solutions will be applied were investigated. The data sources consulted were: EBSCO, PubMed and Scopus; where a sample of 169473 studies was found, of which 12 were selected. The results were that the main trend of artificial intelligence in this field is Computer Vision, the most used device in this field are Smartphones, and the field that most applies these solutions is the mobility of people with visual disabilities.
