Abstract

The present research work was carried out in order to describe the trends of the use of telehealth systems in the monitoring of patients of medical clinics, based on the review of the scientific literature of the last 10 years. This research was carried out following a series of phases established by the PRISMA strategy. After making a systematic search of the studies published in the aforementioned period of time, 21 studies were selected, which were extracted from databases such as Doaj, PubMed, ScienceDirect, among others; using search criteria such as "(Telemedicine OR eHealth OR TeleHealth) AND Monitoring". The results obtained describe different strategies applied in the process of patient monitoring, which can be grouped into two categories: the first one refers to the monitoring and control of diseases and the second one, to the control of patient admissions. In accordance with the aforementioned, it is concluded that the use of these types of systems is important in patient monitoring, since it will help to eliminate the limits that exist in conventional monitoring thanks to the use of remote technology.
