Abstract

In order to identify the application of technology in crime prevention, a systematic analysis of literature on technological tools applied to crime prevention was carried out. 41 articles published in journals indexed in the Scopus, Proquest, Dialnet, Redalyc and Alicia databases from the last ten years were reviewed. Eight technological tools were identified. During the last 10 years they have been applied in the attention of criminal processes. The most frequently applied technological tools are: Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology. It is concluded that the use of technology in crime prevention is more and more frequent and that its greater application could contribute to the reduction of crime.
