Trujillo as a Tourist Destination: Diffusion in Social Networks

Abstract

People spend much of their free time on social networks and rely on references, reviews, and posts on the media. Likewise, since the Covid- 19 pandemic, lifestyles, customs, traditions, the way of perceiving life, and even some daily activities have changed. Therefore, this study is developed to determine the level of perception of national and foreign tourists regarding the social networks used to advertise Trujillo, Peru, as a tourist destination, in 2021. The research is quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational in scope. Data on levels of perception were collected in a questionnaire with duly established and validated questions. It was found that, regarding the external dimension of Peruvian tourists concerning social networks, most of them are at a good level, 81.8% of Peruvian tourists and 91.95% of foreign tourists. In conclusion, it was found that the social networks that advertise the city of Trujillo - Peru as a tourist destination have a good level of perception, for national and international tourists.
