Abstract
The study was conducted considering the pollution generated by the inadequate management of municipal solid waste; therefore, the objective was to identify the methods and models used in an Economic Valuation for the improvement of Municipal Solid Waste Management, based on the analysis of articles between the years 2010 to 2020, using the PRISMA methodology. As results it was found that the method used for the Economic Valuation was the Contingent Valuation which is based on the application of a survey to determine the Willingness to Pay (WTP) of the citizen, which in turn is directly influenced by variables such as Education Level, Age, Income, among others. For data analysis, models such as Binomial Logit (46.2%), Binomial Probit (13.8%), Logistic Regression (30.8%) and the Tobit model (9.2%) were used. It is concluded that the most used method to perform an Economic Valuation in this field is the Contingent Valuation Method, applying the Logit Binomial model.
