Resumen
Our study aimed to use calcite as a natural additive to optimize the axial compressive strength of concrete with a resistance of f'c 210 kg/cm2 by incorporating crushed calcite stone in proportions of 1%, 2%, and 3% relative to the cement weight. The design was experimental with a quantitative approach, using a sample of 36 standard cylindrical specimens. Data was obtained from the concrete laboratory formats at Universidad Privada del Norte-Cajamarca campus (UPN), where both aggregate and concrete laboratory tests were conducted. For result analysis, direct observation and laboratory protocols provided by UPN were used. The results were evaluated based on the average axial compressive strength at 7, 14, and 28 days, revealing that the most effective addition was 3%, improving concrete strength by 7.92% after 28 days of curing. The additions of 1% and 2% crushed calcite stone increased strength by 0.53% and 5.86%, respectively.
