Resumen

The COVID-19 pandemic has devastated various industries, and electric power is no exception. Therefore, a significant change in human activities has been generated, causing economic disruption and energy shortages. In this sense, the objective of the study focuses on proposing a model for evaluating the Autonomy of Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) Microgrids (AMR) with battery energy storage systems (BESS). For the analysis of the AMR, the daily records (hours) of energy consumption of a house and the local daily solar irradiation data were used. Considering the zero-target approach, the Microgrid (MR) and the BESS should supply as much SPV power as possible at all times based on demand. The results show that the AMR model manages to perform the evaluation consistently; and that the AMR depends on the daily profile of the residential energy demand, the stochastic availability of the solar energy resource and the optimization of the BESS. Therefore, the AMR evaluation model is essential to establish the best possible scenario of the autonomous, optimal and stable operationofMRs in residentialapplications.
