Resumen
This research aims to identify the effects of atmospheric pollution on human health worldwide, through the collection, selection and analysis of research papers published in scientific databases between 2012 and 2022. For which I carried out a systematic review of 58 academic and scientific research papers, of which 50 were selected, with 55 scientific articles and 3 theses, and discarding 8 publications that were not aligned with the objectives determined in the present investigation. The most used database was Scopus, followed by ScienceDirect, Scielo, Google Scholar and Alicia Concytec. From this review it is concluded that Latin America does have research related to the subject, but the country that contributed the greatest number of scientific papers was China, followed by the United States. More than half of the selected investigations belong to the year 2017 onwards. Finally, according to the studies analyzed, results were obtained that positively and significantly relate air pollution to the increase in different diseases, mainly respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, with children and the elderly being the most vulnerable. Therefore, it was concluded that it is necessary for the states of the world to take frontal and ambitious measures against air pollution.
