abstract = "EX5500 Hydraulic Shovel Excavators are critical equipment in open pit mining projects and significantly contribute to meet production goals. The availability of these equipments depends on many factors, among them, the management of the stock of fixable components necessary to deal with maintenance procedures. The study analyses the convenience to prioritize these components through the cost scatter diagram. This diagram, shown as a tool of prioritization of failure modes according to the global cost, gives information by adding maintenance indicators. This perspective is improved in the study and receives a holistic approach, adding the opportunity cost of production loss in terms of loss of earnings.",
