N2 - The rise of web-based computer systems has significantly increased their use, along with improvements in development tools such as programming languages, databases, and libraries. These advancements enhance system performance, connectivity, and user experience. However, these improvements also carry a risk: increased vulnerability to cyberattacks. Therefore, just as new tools and methods are employed to improve performance, mechanisms must also be implemented to safeguard the information contained within the systems. This entails defining tasks to ensure data integrity and availability, thereby establishing defenses against potential cyberattacks that could compromise information. This article presents a method to improve security when accessing and working within web-based systems. We introduce security mechanisms for user authentication that send alerts when a user attempts to access areas restricted by their profile, or when actions suggest unauthorized access. The system administrator is instructed to take the necessary actions to safeguard the information. The system is presented as integrated into a web-based document control system, outlining the types of alerts implemented, and concluding with recommendations for replication and scalability.
