Resumen

Urban flooding caused by drainage networks overloaded by heavy rainfall is a recurring problem in our country. In this sense, this research work aims to analyze the feasibility of installing green roofs to improve storm drainage in Jr. Chanchamayo block 14 - Cajamarca, proposing as a viable solution to this problem the use of green roofs to retain a certain percentage of precipitated water and thus contribute to the reduction of peak flows in the drainage. The research has a scope of the descriptive exploratory type; used an intentional non-probabilistic sampling with a sample of six homes in the project area and four study units. The results made it possible to estimate a retention capacity of the tested prototype roofs of 40-77% for extensive green roofs and 43-87% for intensive roofs and it was determined that their installation in the study area is feasible, provided they are extensive modular green roofs, because the values of the maximum drifts do comply with being less than 0.007, the value established in the E-030 standard. A direct cost of S / 441.50 per m ^ 2 was obtained, evidenced after an analysis that it is profitable in the long term.
