Resumen

The works related to heavy machinery, mainly those related to the mining and construction industry, cause different types of vibrations such as mechanical and acoustic, these cause significant effects on the human body, which depend on intensity, frequency and exposure time; which can cause disorders in the musculoskeletal system, muscle fatigue, damage to the nervous and circulatory system, back pain and posture problems. Reducing these risks allows an adequate control in the design, handling of heavy equipment, as well as working conditions, in order to mitigate these effects. In the present work we carried out a methodology based on the application of the ISO/TC 108/SC 4 standard, to evaluate the exposure time and the exposure values that workers of heavy machinery are subjected to, through the evaluation of the limit values allowed for each type of heavy equipment. As a result we present an application made in LabView, which allows to evaluate the maximum exposure times and exposure values, in order to recommend the working times in the machines, to mitigate the effects caused by vibration, we conclude by indicating how you can apply the recommendations of ISO/TC 108/SC 4, through the possible mechanisms to mitigate the effects of vibration.
