Resumen

Peru faces various natural phenomena due to its rugged relief, including floods caused by intense rainfall in certain regions, as is the case in the Ocoña River basin, which has been affected in recent years by these events, making the population centers located in it vulnerable. For this reason, this research aims to estimate and analyze the distribution of the magnitudes and locations of rainfall in this basin for the return periods of 10, 100 and 1000 years, using three satellite products: CHIRPS, ERA5-Land and RAIN4PE. Subsequently, the results of maximum rainfall were correlated with the historical data of the Salamanca climatic station, evidencing a similar trend between the ERA5-Land and RAIN4PE products with respect to that station. In conclusion, this research is of great importance because it offers basic information for subsequent research related to storm analysis and for entities that seek to safeguard both people's lives and their resources.
