Propuesta de mejora de la gestión de inventarios para reducir los costos en el almacén de una empresa transportes de carga, Trujillo 2024

The research aimed to evaluate how a proposed improvement in inventory management influences warehouse costs at a freight forwarding company. A quantitative approach, descriptive level, and pre-experimental design were used, focusing on the supply warehouse processes. The techniques employed were observation and document analysis. The results showed monthly savings of S/ 47,967. Defective purchases were reduced from 5.91% to 2.10%, and damaged products from 0.95% to 0.04%. Inventory recording efficiency improved from 75.8% to 95.6%. The proposal included supplier evaluation, staff training, ABC classification, and inventory policies. With an investment of S/ 36,436, the project achieved a Net Present Value (NPV) of S/ 57,956.25, an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 59.0% and a recovery of the investment in 1.5 months, which allowed a projected reduction of 37.5% in costs and an estimated monthly benefit of S/ 29,978.89.
