Resumen

This study analyses the evolution of vegetation cover in the areas of La Pampa and Nueva Arequipa, in the department of Madre de Dios, using remote sensing techniques using satellite images in the period 2013-2023. For this, which have been processed and analysed with the applications in ArcGIS (ArcMap) and Google Earth. The methodology included an initial phase of the office, where cartographic information was collected and the appropriate satellite images were selected. Subsequently, the digital processing of the images was carried out, applying geometric and radiometric corrections to guarantee their precision. Finally, an analysis of the changes in vegetation cover was carried out by applying spectral indices such as NDVI and calculating the surface temperature of the earth. The results will allow the assessment of the impact of deforestation caused by illegal mining, providing key information for sustainable land management and the conservation of ecosystems in this Amazon region.
