Resumen

The purpose of this research was to address water issues in Peru related to frequent rainfall events and to mitigate their impact. To achieve this, the study aimed to dissipate hydraulic flow energy using trapezoidal dissipators. Wooden blocks were strategically placed to improve flow dissipation. Based on these experimental arrangements, an initial model was created in Inventor software, facili tating the optimal positioning of the blocks for further CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) simulations. Laboratory data informed the CFD model, replicating experimental conditions to evaluate flow behavior with the dissipators. This process involved comparing CFD and experimental results to enhance model accuracy, demonstrating CFD as a robust predictive tool for analyzing and optimizing flow behavior with trapezoidal dissipators for efficient energy dissipatio.
