Resumen

This article analyzes the construction of anti-APRA discourse in the newspaper El Caplina of Tacna during 1934-1935, a period characterized by the intensification of political persecution against APRA. Through Critical Discourse Analysis and hegemony theory, it examines how the newspaper developed sophisticated discursive strategies that combined political criminalization, moral delegitimization, and ridicule of the adversary. The research reveals an evolution from the initial characterization of APRA as an incoherent political force to its presentation as a threat to social order, demonstrating how the regional press adapted and re-elaborated national political discourses. The study shows that El Caplina articulated a discourse that transcended mere party opposition to construct an image of Aprismo as a fundamental obstacle to national and regional development.
