The Impact of Art Direction on the Success of Audiovisual Productions in the Last 5 Years in Iberoamérica

Since the beginning of the film industry, the work of an art director has been required to create an artistic environment that complements the narrative side of an audiovisual project. However, the importance of their role in audiovisual productions is not clear. That is why this paper seeks to answer the following research question: What is the impact of art direction in the success of audiovisual productions in the last 5 years in Ibero-America? For the search criteria we worked under the filters: all open access, last five years, belonging to arts and humanities and digital media. The type of study used was the systematic review of scientific literature with the use of the Prisma method. The articles were analyzed and divided into four categories. The main limitation was the scarcity of information on the subject. Finally, it was concluded that art direction contributes to the production and reception of an audiovisual project, so it should be prioritized from the academic training stage of future audiovisual communicators.
